A sweet little black powder percussion Pepperbox revolver by Manhattan Fire Arms Mfg. Co. of New York, chambered for  .31 cal round ball.

Double action ONLY: one pull of the trigger lifts and drops the hammer and rotates the barrel/cylinder. A half-pull on the trigger lifts the hammer enough to rotate the barrel and add percussion caps to the nipples. Nipples all appear to be in fair shape, with one looking a little more aged than the others but still intact. Marked on the hammer with the maker's name and 'New York', the cylinder is marked 'Cast Steel' and there is a '950' marked between two of the nipples on the rotating barrel. Rear of the action is lightly engraved with scrolling leaves, and the back strap of the grip is engraved as well. The wood grips themselves are worn, and the left grip appears to have been repaired with wood filler.

I have a soft place in my heart for black powder pepperbox pistols, and this one is no exception! A real little gem.
