AKAH Albrecht Kind aus Hunstig Drilling 16x16x8mm Combination Gun
A lovely 'Drilling' triple barreled combination gun sold by Albrecht Kind aus Hunstig (AKAH) and made in Suhl, Germany. Shotgun barrels are chambered in 16g 2.5", and the rifle barrel is in 8x57 JR.
All three barrels are bright and clean, with good rifling on the rifle barrel. A thumb switch on the top switches from the shotgun barrels to the rifle barrel, and an ingenious little mechanism raises the folding sight on the barrel when you switch to the rifle. Don't ask me how it does it. I'm gonna say it's magic.
The checkered wood stock shows signs of wear, and the butt plate has sadly been a bit chewed by rodents but still retains the AKAH mark on it!
The story goes that this was brought back to Canada by man who served during the second world war. When the allied forces were de-arming the civilian population, he found himself in a building piled high with the guns that had been seized. This one understandably caught his eye, and ended up making its way back home with him.
A lovely example of a German Drilling, and chambered in usable cartridge sizes! You should definitely snag this before I decide to keep it for myself.
