A lovely example of a railway lantern! This guy was meant to be held in the hand and was used as a signalling device. The red glass on this one tells us that it was used to say "Stop!".
Made by Hiram Piper for the Canadian National Railway, it's in fantastic condition with all its original parts.
Measures 16.25" tall by 8" by 6".
