1905 BSA Lee Enfield SHTLE No.I Mk.I*** : .303BR
This is one of the more scarce ones, a Lee Enfield SHTLE No.I Mk.I***, marking it as one of the Enfields converted in WWII to take the higher velocity Mk. VII .303 British ammunition. This example was made by the Birmingham Small Arms Company circa 1905, it has the updated sights of the Mk.I*** as well as the updated volley sight numbered from 1600 yds up to 2800 yds.
Bore has strong distinct rifling, and the action is smooth and crisp. The wood stocks are stained in places, but otherwise are in good condition with moderate handling marks. Action is equipped with a magazine cutoff, and the original serial number has been struck out and replaced with the serial number ER1 on both the action and the bolt.
