British Pattern 1853 Enfield Socket Bayonet with Scabbard & Frog
This socket bayonet was made for use with the Pattern 1853 Enfield Rifle-Musket used by the British Empire from 1853 to 1867. This particular example is fabulously complete with both its original scabbard and leather frog! The brass ferrule on the scabbard is a little wiggly but still on there good! The metal rivets on the frog are quite rusted, but the leather buckle to hold the scabbard in is complete.
The bayonet is marked with a Crown over R over 11 on the ricasso, but no other markings are present. The scabbard is marked on the frog stud with the numbers 35 and 62.
The bayonet has an even patina throughout, with some scratches over the mark on the ricasso.
