WWII Japanese Type 30 Bayonet by Kokura Arsenal
A WWII sword bayonet for use on the Japanese 6.5mm Type 38 rifle, the 6.5mm Type I Carcano rifle, and the 7.7mm Type 99 rifle. It will also fit the older Japanese 6.5mm Type 30 rifles.
This example was made by Kokura Arsenal and bears their mark on the ricasso. The long fullered blade is in good condition with only a couple of mild nicks in the cutting edge.
It's marked on the pommel with an indistinct Kanji character, as well as the number 3956509.
It comes with its scabbard and leather frog. The scabbard has quite a significant dent about halfway down its length.
Kokura Arsenal was the original target of the U.S.'s second atomic bomb strike, however it was obscured by smoke from firebombing missions and the target was changed to Nagasaki.
