I'd like to imagine that this was carved by a Squirrel as a large storage chest for his most precious acorns. He would keep his standard acorns in the top to share with his Squirrel Friends when they came over, but in the secret bottom compartment are all those once-in-a-lifetime nuts that you keep for special occasions.

This is carved with beautiful detail on the top, acorns and oak leaves in high relief!
