An excellent example of a World War I German Kommandantur Lille Ersatz Flare Pistol. Manufactured in Belgium and stocked at supply depot Lille in occupied France in WWI, these continued to be used through WWII by the Wehrmacht. Uses a Snider style rotating barrel for loading 1 inch flare rounds, and is armed by pulling back a heavy spring loaded cocking mechanism.
