Colt 1851 Navy Black Powder Percussion Revolver (Fourth Model) : .36 Cal
Someone did a phenomenal job putting together this cased Fourth Model Colt 1851 Navy Black Powder Percussion Revolver. Chambered in .36 Cal the most impressive inclusion has to be the original Colt's Patent double mold with one chamber for a bullet, and one for round ball. Along with that is three period correct paper wrapped cartons each containing six paper wrapped pyrodex cartridges (made in April 1996), a small replica powder horn, a nipple wrench/screwdriver tool, two tins of No. 11 percussion caps, a cleaning brush, a small felt bag with patch cloth, and a little casing with a replacement part and a couple of small nails they were likely using as nipple picks.
The bore has light wear with good rifling and some light oxidation and pitting. The metal has an overall mottled patina with a few scuffs and marks. The dark wood grips have some light wear, but overall are in good condition. Lockup is tight, hammer holds at half and full cock, and the trigger is nice and responsive. Serial numbers are matching on the barrel, frame, cylinder, trigger guard and back strap and date the revolver to 1863. 7.5" Barrel.
All in all a lovely set in a lockable case with lots of extras to make your trips to the range that much easier!
