French M1866 Yataghan Chassepot Bayonet

French Yataghan sword bayonet for use with the M1866 Chassepot needle-fire rifle. It can also be used on the M1874 Gras rifle. Someone sadly took a wire brush to the blade to clean it up and so any blade markings are all but obliterated. It is missing its scabbard.

The crossguard is marked with K46309 and the hooked quillion has three distinct proof marks. The entire bayonet is quite worn and there is some pitting present on the blade.
