A World War I German Ersatz Bayonet. Identified as Bayonet EB8 from J. Anthony Carter's "German Bayonets, Volume 3" this example has a blade that has been shortened from the original 12" blade and is missing its scabbard.

Marked '3930' on the two piece guard above the grip and has a faint imperial proof on the spine. The heavy cast steel hilt retains much of its original green paint, and the split muzzle ring is intact.

All in all a good piece for a collector getting started in German Ersatz bayonets!
