WWII German Leuchtpistole 34 Flare Gun : Erma 1940
A World War II German Leuchtpistole 34 Flare Gun made by Erfurter Maschinenfabrik Berthold Geipel GmbH, or more briefly 'Erma' in 1940. Chambered for 26.6mm (1.05") flares.
A single shot, break action smoothbore flare gun designed by Walther. Made from machined duralumin with bakelite grips. Blued finish is quite worn, but the action works beautifully and the break action is nice and snappy. Originally used for signaling, illumination, target marking or concealment with smoke grenades.
Marked ayf 40 on the left side, which was the three-letter designation Erma switched to in mid-1940. Extensively marked on all parts with the German Eagle.
