A Webley & Scott No.1 Mk. III Flare Pistol. Gorgeous brass frame and barrel with tilt-down break open loading mechanism and single action operation. Marked on the right side of the frame with the W&S winged bullet logo of Webley & Scott, as well as the serial number 7033.

The left side of the frame and barrel have various proof marks, and it's broad arrow stamped down to the leaf spring that holds the catch shut.
Finish is 9/10 overall, with what appears to be a very deliberate and old V gouge in the wood grips on the left side. The right side wood grip has a stable crack that runs through the centre from top to bottom.
A beautiful example of a British Military flare pistol from the latter days of World War I.
