The folding trigger doesn't have anything to keep it in place when it's folded, so it will swing freely whether the hammer is pulled back or not.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt's marked with Belgian Proof marks as well as a Crown over R marking to indicate a rifled barrel, and a Star over B inspector code. Like many antique Belgian arms there's no indication of the maker. There are a couple of numbers marked on the frame under the wood grips, but no maker's mark.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis was likely a small piece for a gentleman's personal protection as it's a bit too large to be a ladies pistol in its time. It has an overall lovely patina with some areas of more significant wear above the grip behind the hammer.
